Boxing Day 2008. A BIG thank you to everyone that came & visited the 2008 Romsey Boxing Day Classic Car & Bike Meet. Anyone that did will know just how overwhelmed with vehicles we were, the number that turned out was just staggering ( estimated 500 cars & 300 bikes ) & heaven only knows how many viewing public! it was great. Within half an hour of opening, ALL our 250 ADRIAN FLUX SPECIALIST CAR INSURERS goodie bags were gone & by 9.45 all our spaces were filled in all three car parks! So apologies to anyone that we had to direct to public car parks but short of parking cars on top of each other we had little else we could do! There are just 3 of us running the parking & we do do our utmost to cram as many vehicles in as we can without blocking others in & every time one vehicle leaves, we let another in. If you were one of those unfortunate enough to not get in, we are sorry. I have increased the site's footprint 3 years running & am going to talk with the local council regards the possibility of obtaining a further 90 spaces so that we can accomodate more of you in 2009............watch this space. A HUGE thank you to all those that placed money in one of our ten charity collection tins, I am very pleased to announce that the total raised was up nearly 40% on last year at £874.12 on the day but has since reached £900.12 thanks to kind donations from my customers since the event. The cheque has been sent to THE PROSTATE CANCER CHARITY. THANK YOU everyone.
