2017 SHOW SUMMARY.

With high winds & heavy rain late into Christmas day night & more heavy rain forecast for Boxing Day, things didn't look good for the 2017 meet. I was on site at 4am (!) & thankfully the skies had cleared & there were no high winds & it stayed that way, with the sun popping out as well, right up until packing up time, when it started to rain just as I picked up the first barriers to pack away! Now people often comment on how lucky we are weather wise & this year was certainly no exception!

Arrivals were later than normal & not as frantic, I'm guessing people went to bed thinking they'd skip it due to the bad weather, only to wake up to sunshine & hence had a change of mind! Likewise, the car parks emptied a little earlier, probably because of the threat of more bad weather from 1pm onwards & it certainly got bad! However ... the narrow window in between saw Romsey again mobbed by quality Pre 1976 & Pre 1986 U.S vehicles of a variety people still seem to marvel, at be it classic Nortons, Brough Superiors, Ferraris, Astons, Ferguson Tractors, Hot Rods, a Dennis bus etc etc etc. We do seem to attract the most eclectic array of vehicles. Car parks were again filled to the brim, as were the town's car parks & streets.

I was again collecting for PROSTATE CANCER UK, trying to beat the £5000 raised last year & we did so with a terrific £5351.88 total raised.

Thank you to all the classic vehicle owners who brought along their magnificent vehicles, thank you to EVERYONE that has donated, thank you to ALDI & TVBC for the use of their site, thank you to ADRIAN FLUX SPECIALIST INSURANCE for their continued sponsorship of the event, thank you to George of

G & J catering for once again keeping everyone fed & for his usual massive donation to the charity. A huge thankyou this year again to TOTTON MOTOR FACTORS for their brilliant additional goody bags AND their massive donation & also to GREATBRIDGE MOTOR SERVICES &  BARON'S CLASSIC CAR AUCITONEERS for very generous donations & THE STUDIO printing shop in Romsey for all their help once again. Last but far from least, thank you to my small team of marshals for giving up their time once again & doing such an amazing job & to my cousin for all his help ferrying the barriers, road cones, signage etc to & from the site.
