Romsey's Annual Boxing Day PRE 1976 Car & Bike Meet(Pre '86 American ... )
ROMSEY'S ANNUAL BOXING DAY PRE 1976 CAR & BIKE MEET
(PRE 1986 AMERICAN CARS, BIKES & HOT RODS)
The entry rules are very simple...
THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ONLY
PRE 1976 WORLDWIDE CARS, BIKES & COMMERCIALS.
& PRE 1986 AMERICAN CARS, BIKES & HOT RODS.
NO POST 1976 WORLDWIDE CARS, BIKES & COMMERCIALS
NO POST 1986 AMERICAN CARS, BIKES & HOT RODS.
If you own a '91 Harley? an '83 Sierra? an '85 Kawasaki? maybe an '86 Nissan?
or perhaps an '02 Suzuki? or an '88 Astra? maybe a '79 Golf? or a '78 Cortina? or even a '82 Yugo?????...
Whilst we very much welcome you as a spectator, please DO NOT try & enter the show car parks.
Due to huge demand & space limitations, this remains a PRE 1976 ONLY event ( Pre 86 American ).
ALL cars, bikes, scooters & commercials will be number plate checked to ensure that they are PRE 1976 or PRE 1986 American
& ANY vehicle outside of those categories will be politely directed to other local car parks.
Space dictates our year classifications, so if your vehicle is outside those years, please park responsibly in the town's
many other car parks, or in the square, NOT on the kerbs, or the roadside around the event's car parks please. Thank you.
The event has had year restrictions from it's 2nd year in 2003. In 2008 I expanded them from the then 1973 limit, to the current PRE 1976, when we gained another car park... but we still had more eligible vehicles than we had space! The year restrictions aren't "snobbery" or our being "elitist", we love all year vehicles, but we cram some 6 - 700 cars and 200 plus motorbikes into 3 large car parks!
(The event started as an "All American" car show but soon evolved into what it is today & the "PRE 86 American only" still applies as a concessionary nod to what was an "ALL YEAR American" show & because late 70's, early 80's Vettes, Trans Ams etc,
are still very popular viewing for a lot of spectators & fellow vehicle owners.)
We will get in as many eligible vehicles as possible but entry is "First come, first served", so please remember that the 6 Marshalls at this FREE event, all volunteer their time, please respect them and what they tell you. If you do get turned away when we're full, all is not lost, there is plenty of parking on the streets in & around the town centre, park somewhere there ( responsibly & not obstructing anyone )
& you will still be very much part of the event. Alternatively, early arriving vehicles will often leave mid morning, allowing entry for later arrivals... this often creates a 2nd & entirely different show of vehicles for spectators.
THANK YOU for reading & abiding by our necessary rules.
